Wall Hanging:
The Reredos Shields
"The Family of God"

Symbolism has always been important to Christians.  When the early church was illegal, a fish was often drawn at a site to indicate that the faithful gathered there.  It was kind of a secret code based on ichthus, “fish,” an acronym in the Greek alphabet for  “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior.”  This wall hanging depicts many symbols carved in the reredos.
